The Amlarem Sub-division was established on 12th November 1976. The area of the Sub-division is 404.53 sq. kms approx. There are 92 Villages within the Sub – division. The population as per 1981 census is 21618 and as per 2001 census, it is 35,888. The literacy rate up to date is 66.1% .
