The Amlarem ICDS Project

Being an area predominantly inhabited by the Tribal was established during the year 1990 December. The project is covering 74 Nos. Anganwadi centers with a total population as follows (as per CDPOs MPR, 2009).

  • Female - 19736 Nos
  • Pregnant mothers - 514 Nos
  • Nursing mothers - 581 Nos
  • Children population
    • 6month to 1year - 615 (M&F)
    • 1 - 3 years - 1927 (M&F)
    • 3 - 6 years - 3071 (M&F)

The total number of target beneficiaries covered under supplementary Nutrition Programme is :-

  • Pregnant & Nursing mothers - 1054 Nos
  • Malnourished children (6mnths - 3Yrs) - 2552 Nos
  • Malnourished children (3 - 6Yrs) - 3078 Nos
  • Severely Malnourished children (0 - 6) - Nos
  • Adolescent Girls - 288 Nos

Objective: Delivery of a package of basic services under ICDS programme to children under 6 of age, pregnant women and nursing mothers right in their own villages or location those includes.

  • Hygiene, Cleanliness special drives for Hand washing, Nail cutting, etc

  • Pre-School education for 25 days a month 3-6 yrs non formal education: Activities include identification of alphabets, numbers concept of colours seriation leaving pasting, sizes of shapes of pictures, etc. And Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) for 6mths-6yrs and pregnant mothers & nursing mothers for 25 days a month which includes fortified atta, suji, cheera, begal gram. rice, dal, cereal based weaning food, milk, moog dal, halna, rice poha.

      Disabled 18yrs above number received - 209 Nos

      IEC Programme conducted by CDPO including health programme.

      Activities Topic covered : Nutrition Awareness, ICDS Scheme, Propagate importance of health sanitation and health programme, Breast feeding and benefit, Child Labour, child abuse and child protection, Early stimultation, care giving practice for below 3yrs, Early marraige and consequence, Immunization, iron folic supplement.

       Nutrition and Health Education (NHED) conducted at AWCs and Health Department (ANM)

          Activities Topic are Health and sanitation, Weight and growth monitoring and health check-up.
